Primary Literacy Academy is a place where early learning feels intentional, elevated, and deeply personal. Founded by an experienced educator, our school was created for families who value a strong academic start grounded in literacy, structure, and joyful discovery. From our thoughtfully designed classrooms to our nurturing team, everything we do is centered around helping children grow with confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.
Primary Literacy Academy was founded by an experienced educator who saw the need for early learning that’s both intentional and nurturing. What began as a vision for stronger school readiness became a place where children feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow.
To ignite early literacy and build strong foundational skills in every child, empowering confident learners through intentional, research-backed education. We are committed to nurturing bright minds with warmth, structure, and purposeful teaching from the very beginning.
To lead the way in academic early education, where children from The Woodlands grow into capable, confident, and curious learners. We envision a future where every child begins school not only prepared, but excited for the path ahead.
Dear Parents, Teachers and Friends of Primary Literacy Academy,
I am excited to introduce myself as the new Director of Primary Literacy Academy, beginning June 1st. My name is Shelby Chance, and I am truly honored to join this community and continue the great work already in place. My goal is to ensure a smooth and seamless transition while building strong connections with each of you and leading with a collaborative and supportive approach.
I bring 11 years of experience in the childcare industry, with a background that spans a variety of roles. I am deeply committed to continuous learning and professional growth, and I take great pride in the work I do. My primary goal is to provide your children with a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment that supports their physical, social, and intellectual development.
I currently reside in Conroe, Texas, where I was also raised. I am a proud mother of two wonderful children and one beloved “fur baby.” Family is incredibly important to me, and we are active members of The Ark Church in Conroe, where we have attended for the past seven years. In my free time, I enjoy creating meaningful memories with family and friends.
I am truly grateful for this opportunity to grow with Primary Literacy Academy, and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you.
Warmly,
Shelby Chance
